This is the HEYMOUS Ring Mandrel Metal Ring Sizer Set (click to order).   This is a very handy set to own, especially if you want to make rings or circular items.  The set has 4 pieces in it and holds up to the hammering.    Being a metal ring Sizer it is less likely to break contact with the plastic ones.
It consists of a jewelry hammer, finger Sizer, ring Sizer, and a wooden rod ring holder.   💍
The hammer is as long as a normal handle which gives a nice length to work with, compared to the shorter hammered ones.  It also allows more control over the hammer and to hit a little heavier.  All great qualities in a hammer for jewelry.   The difference between a hammer in your tool kit and a jewelry hammer is the jewelry hammer is made to not damage the wire you are hitting compared to a regular hammer that will damage the wire when you hit it.

The wooden dolly is my go-to for beating out the wire ring.   I find that it works great for hammering on and does not knick.   I have made over three dozen rings on it and about a dozen circle pieces for pendants.  It has taken a beating and still holding its shape.  It alone is worth the money. I even make pieces bigger on it, when need be.

The third piece in the set is the ring sizer stick.  I am always checking the size of what I am working on and when I want to make rings a certain size have learnt that this is worth its weight in money.  I wrap the actual ring on it and hammer a little on it, before moving it to the wooden dolly.   Being metal it does not break as easily as the plastic ones do. It does have a few rough spots from the metal being hit onto metal but that is expected.

Last is the finger ring sizer.  These are metal ones and not plastic so they have not fallen apart like the plastic ones do.  I have checked different fingers to make sure what size ring the person needs before making the rings (want to order one of my rings - Click here)

I would highly recommend this set to anyone who wants to start wire wrapping even if it is not rings but circle pieces.

Jewelry Pliers, Shynek 4pcs Jewelry Making Tools Kit with Needle Nose Pliers/Chain Nose Pliers, Round Nose Pliers, Wire Cutters and Bent Nose Pliers for Crafts, Wire Wrapping, Jewelry Making Supplies

This is a great starter set consisting of the 4 basic pillars one needs to make wired jewelry with.  A basic set like this one is a great set for beginners.
It consists of the four main tools needed for basic wire wrap.  A simple pair of Wire Cutters to cut the wire with.  A nice set is always a plus and makes cutting not just wire a plus but also chain an essential, part in jewelry making.
A good pair of pillars to hold wire and shape it is a helpful tool.  Bending wire with your fingers can be hard and a great pair of pliers saves your fingers from hurting and bleeding.
The chain nail pliers help to move wire on an angle and hold it in place, even good for holding a bead in place while wrapping another wire around it.
The round nose pillars work for making small loops. Making a small loop to connect to another piece or part in a design.
This set is a great set to order for a starter and works perfectly fine.  It works right along with the ring wire set to make beautiful pieces.

These are not a requirement for beginners but they do make your life easier.  The Nylon Pliers allow you to smooth out the wire so it is flatter.   Since owning a pair I have personally had wire that is easier to work with and do use them to flatten out pieces that I do not want to hammer.  They are a great investment for any wire wrapper artisan.

This last set consists of the 4 basic pilers we require and then an additional 2 pillars and a handy case to keep them in. The additional pilers are End Cutting Pillars and the Lineman Pillars
The End cutters may be helpful with making cuts but are not a requirement for beginning wire wrap and the Lineman Pillars would make me uneasy to use to smooth out any pieces since it does not have the Nylon as the Nylon Pillars.  They would be great for holding a piece but passing that is not required as a beginner.

I will be discussing wire type in the next blog but if interested in wire wrapping do make sure to pick up these in supplies, first.
